Wolverines tame Lions, avenge OT loss; 53-45 | Boys Basketball

The Wolverines exacted a bit of revenge with a 53-45 victory on the road, Tuesday, over Cedar Park Christian.

On the offensive end, Friday Harbor big men Collin Williamson and Otis Cooper-West carried the load. Williams, a junior, led all scorers with 17 points and Cooper-West, a sophomore, contributed 15. The two low-post players accounted for 32 of the Wolverines 53 points. Sophomore guard C.J. Woods added 14 to the team total.

Friday Harbor (10-2 league) led 25-22 at the half, and then outscored the Lions 28-23 after the break to claim the win.

With the victory, the Wolverines soothed the sting of an earlier loss at home to the Lions, in overtime, and took sole possession of second place in the Northwest 1A/2B League standings. Cedar Park Christian fell to 8-3 in league.

The Wolverines square off against La Conner, undefeated in league play, at 12-0, on the road Friday; tip off is 6 p.m. They close out a 20-game regular-season schedule at home, Saturday, against league and inter-island rival Orcas. Tip off is 2 p.m. in  Turnbull Gym.
