Staff report
The Friday Harbor Wolverines football team hit the road Friday, Nov. 10 to make the long journey to the playoffs. The team stayed the night in Tumwater and made it to Willapa Valley High School on Saturday, Nov. 11 for the midday playoff game. According to Friday Harbor coach Brock Hauck, after a season of hard work and dedication, the team was well bonded and ready to take on the Pe Ell/Willapa Valley team.
Both teams were celebrating a winning streak, which added extra pressure to this highly anticipated game.
After the game, Hauck said, “Our kids learned what playoff football is all about.” Pe Ell/Willapa Valley beat Friday Harbor 46-0.
“Besides the loss,” Hauck says, “it was a great team learning experience and the kids conducted themselves with great character. I am proud of them for how far they have come this season. No one expected us to make the playoffs. This team worked very hard from day one and earned it.”
