The Wolverines softball team took home a win at Wednesday’s game on March 21. They battled the Cedar Park Christian team on their home field and ended the game with a final score of 18-2.
Friday Harbor racked up 10 points in the first inning while Cedar Park Christian scored 0.
“The Cedar Park coach told us before the game that their starting pitcher was out due to illness, so I think that was the result of the first inning score,” said Wolverines Assistant Coach Kirk Holt.
Neither team scored in the second inning, and the Wolverines scored 3 points in the third and 5 in the fourth.
“During the third inning our offense got to see more strikes, and I think we took the best advantage of it with 6 hits on the day,” said Holt. “Defensively, our starters and non-starters played solid getting the outs when we needed them.”
Cedar Park wasn’t able to achieve their two runs until the fifth inning.
The Wolverines are 2-2 overall in the league so far. They lost their two first games against Mount Baker on Saturday, March 10. On Friday, March 16, they came around with a 13-2 win against Sultan.
They played Forks in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 24, but lost both games. The next games are against Concrete at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 9.
