During a brief reprieve in the rainy weather, the Friday Harbor Wolverines boys soccer team battled against the Orcas Island Vikings during an away game on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The Wolverines put on their best game faces, but were unable to turn the tide as the game ended 5-1 against the Orcas on their home turf. The Vikings scored four points in the first half, with much of the second half proceeding with no goals made until the final three minutes wherein the Wolverines enthusiastically scored their first goal. Celebrations were short-lasting as the Vikings responded to the Wolverine’s goal by scoring one of their own.
As the game ended, the rain picked up and poured on the field as the players headed home.
