Baseball: FHHS Dominates Coupeville in Conference Play

Friday Harbor High School (FHHS) showcased a strong performance against Coupeville High School in their recent conference games. The team first traveled to Coupeville on March 28, where they dominated with a decisive 10-0 win.

“Triston Bremer struck out nine batters in four shutout innings, and Harrison Edge struck out three hitters in one inning before the game was called after five innings because we were up by 10 runs,” said Head Coach Jon Smith.

Coach Smith added that Marcos Soto hit a bases-clearing double to drive in three runs. Mason Smith hit a shot to left center for a double that drove in one run. Jackson Feliz had two base hits with two runs batted in, while Forrest Goodremont had two base hits with one run batted in.

Back at home, FHHS continued their winning streak with a solid 3-0 victory over Coupeville on Thursday, March 30.

According to Coach Smith, Jackson Feliz pitched a complete-game, seven-inning shutout, with 16 strikeouts, giving up only two hits and walking none. Henry Pope had two base hits with one run batted in, and Joe Holt short-hopped the left-field fence for a double.

“Our pitching and defense were both spectacular this past week. We did not give up a single run in two games, which was especially sweet because both games were against one of our biggest rivals, Coupeville,” said Coach Smith.

With the home-and-home sweep, FHHS Baseball is now 3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
