The lady Wolverines volleyball team hosted the Concrete Lions on Wednesday, Sept. 27 and came away with a 3-0 victory, according to head volleyball coach Derek Smith.
“Senior hitters Kiana Woods, Ella Hu and Laurel Roberson, and sophomore Zoe Wegmer all posted kills against the Concrete defense,” said Smith, adding that junior setter Melanie Quiroz also had a great game. She put up 22 serves with five service aces, which the opposing team was unable to pass.
Friday Harbor’s junior varsity team also did well on Sept. 27, winning its first home game of the season with a score of 2-0 against Concrete.
Their next varsity volleyball game was in Mount Vernon, on Thursday, Sept. 28, and the next home game will be Oct. 5 in the Friday Harbor High School Turnball Gym at 4:30 p.m. against La Conner.
