Snohomish got the best of the San Juan Dragons in a clash between conference leaders Saturday at Friday Harbor High School.
But it took them two extra periods to do it.
Tied 9-9 after the end of the first overtime, Snohomish’s Josh Pederson scored the game-winner on an assist from Laruen Danielson with just under two minutes remaining in the second overtime. The Dragons, which got three goals apiece from senior Forest Dayton and Ryan Guard, suffered only their second loss of the season, but remain atop the Skagit Conference standings at 6-2.
Snohomish, boosted by Pederson’s three goals and 16 saves by Danielson, improved to 9-0 in Cascade Conference play and 10-2 overall.
Dragons goalkeeper Calen Mahrer had 17 saves in the contest.
