The Friday Harbor Wolverines baseball team increased their already perfect record to four wins — zero losses with a huge win over Darrington on Thursday, March 30.

Perfect early season baseball weather was on hand for the team’s second home game of the season. The sunshine, freshly mowed grass, hot dogs and popcorn brought out many local fans.

The game was halted after five innings as the Wolverines had a mighty lead, with a final score of 14-0. Starting pitcher Kai Herko stayed on the mound for the entire game and pitched a no-hitter.

“Kai threw very well yesterday and the whole team played an all-around great game. We play Forks and Coupeville next — both are bigger schools and away games, so that should be a good test for our team, and especially our younger pitchers,” Coach Rich Warren explained.

The boys play at home again on April 14 with a doubleheader against rival Orcas Island, starting at 12:30 p.m.
