The lady Wolverines faced the Orcas Vikings two weeks ago winning 9 – 0. The game resulted in injury to two Viking players, according to Viking Coach Chris Doherty. One girl has a cracked tibia and another has a cracked ankle.

“I filed a complaint with the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association,” said Doherty, who claimed the Wolverines were excessively kicking, pushing and stomping.

San Juan Island School District and WIAA has not been notified of the complaint at this time and has not been contacted by the Orcas School District about these allegations.

Since this story was published on Oct 12, Vicki Vandermay, Orcas Island School District Athletic director, has stated that there is no claim being made against the Wolverines.

“We are intending to send a letter to the officials association asking for help in controlling the game but that is all,” she said.
