The Friday Harbor girls softball team had a strong season, finishing first in their league and making it to the 2B state softball tournament in Yakima on May 25-26.
On the second day of the tournament, the lady Wolverines lost to the Pe Ell Trojans, 19-1, ending the Wolverines’ stellar season. Earlier that day, the girls beat Kittitas, 6-5.
The day before, a nail-biter against Liberty Christian secured Friday Harbor’s spot in Day 2 of the competition. The Wolverines played a long, tense game and beat Liberty Christian, 19-18.
The girls lost their first game on Friday, May 25 against the Ocosta Wildcats, 14-6.
According to www.nw1a2bathletics.com, the Wolverines won the Northwest 2B League championship going a perfect 10-0.
