The Friday Harbor Wolverines traveled to Coupeville High School to play the Wolves last week, clinching a spot in the play-offs.
The entire game was played in a total rain downpour. The Wolves scored first with a touchdown. Their point after was unsuccessful. The football was hard to hang on to with so much rain falling. Many fumbles happened by both teams.
The Wolverines remained scoreless until 29 seconds before halftime when quarterback Dylan Roberson #7 threw a pass to a waiting Nathan Posenjak #10. The pass was caught and Nathan ran into the end zone for 6 points. However, the point after was unsuccessful. In the third quarter and fourth quarter, the score remained tied 6-6.
The game ended and the first of three overtimes began. Friday Harbor was able to score a touchdown in the overtimes and the kick for the extra point was successful. Then the mighty Wolverine defense went to work and kept the Wolves from scoring. The final score was 13-6, with the Wolverines winning.
The next Wolverine game is Saturday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Oak Harbor High School. The winner of a game on Monday, Nov. 1 of Toledo vs. Willapa will play Friday Harbor on Saturday.
