The Wolverines girls tennis team went up against Granite Falls, a 2A league team, losing 1-4, on Friday, March 30.
“Our lone point came from our second doubles team of Midi Thomas and Mariah Daniher,” said coach Kevin Cullen, adding that the score to that match, or game, was 8-5. He also noted that Aida Must originally tied up her singles match with a score of 8-8. She came up just short during the tie-breaking round, however, Cullen said. Wolverines Katy Kulseth and Tori Polda’s doubles match was also a nail-biter, he added. Their final score was 9-7.
“A few points here or there, it could have easily been a 3-2 win,” Cullen said. “ All in all, it was a good match for us against a much larger school and I was very happy with the way the girls performed.”
The next game will take place on Whidbey, April 18, where the girls will face off against Coupeville.
