FHHS Football – on the hunt for a fourth title

The Friday Harbor High School Wolverines football team are preparing for another great season of football.

Wolverines Head Coach Brock Hauck has eleven seasons of coaching under his belt, four as head coach of the team. Coach Hauck started coaching in 2004 when his sons were young, having coached ever since and eventually working his way up through the ranks to the position he enjoys now.

“This is an outstanding group of men,” says Coach Hauck. “They care about each other, and work together as a team. The seniors have done a tremendous job leading by example and being great teammates.”

In preparation for the 2022 season Coach Hauck says “Our goal is always to win league and go to the state playoffs. Our biggest challenge will be to stay healthy.”

The Friday Harbor Wolverines biggest rival according to Coach Hauck is Coupeville. “We beat them in triple overtime last season to win the league title.” The Wolverines have won four consecutive titles, and Coach hauck plans to keep that winning streak alive.

Currently the Wolverines football team has 23 players on the roster. “These young men are all tough on the field,” adds Coach Hauck, “but I seek to instill in them mental toughness. Mental toughness,” he says, “is learning to put aside the last play that happened, work on improving it, and not letting it define you.”
