The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead, finishing the opening quarter with a 8-9 advantage, Saturday, in their season opener at South Whidbey.
After that, the well went dry for the Friday Harbor offense, which managed just two points in the second quarter and three in the third period.
““The game started great,” Coach Eric Jangard said. “We did everything we needed to win the game, except put the ball in the basket.”
The Wolverines expect to have two veterans back in the lineup, Emily Guard and Mindy Brandli, when they open league play, Friday, at Orcas, and as they look to rebound from the season opening 33-22 loss; tip off is 6 p.m.
Friday Harbor faces Bear Creek, Saturday, at noon, in its home opener in Turnbull Gym.
