Shannon Terrell of Bellingham won the sixth annual Roche Harbor Salmon Classic Invitational Saturday with an 18.6-pound blackmouth.

He claimed $10,000 for first prize.

In second place was Wayne Logsdon of Mount Vernon, 16.1 pound, $5,000.

In third place was Bret Thurman of Deer Harbor, 15.15 pounds, $1,500.

Craig Hougen of Bellingham won the Mystery Fish prize, 9.03 pounds, good for $2,000.

The Best Boat Total Weight prize was won by Craig Hougen, Mike Hougen, Bill Melton and Tim Melton, all of Bellingham. Their combined catch was 84 pounds. They shared a prize of $1,500.

The two-day derby sold out by Nov. 5. One hundred boats carrying 344 anglers competed.

It was the second-best catch in the tournament’s history. Sixty-six fish were weighed on Friday, 49 were weighed on Saturday, for a total of 115.

Anglers were restricted only to hatchery blackmouth in an area roughly bounded by Point Doughty to Bear Island, Sandy Point to Green Point, Green Point to Limestone Point, Pear Point to Fisherman’s Bay, the south end of Humphrey Head to the south end of Thatcher Cove, Peavine Pass to Deer Point, Olga Point to Twin Rocks, and Double Island to Oak Island.
