Stuart Edwin Salot, 81, passed away on Nov. 5, 2018, in Seattle, Washington. He was born in Los Angeles, California to David and Bess Salot. Stuart attended Beverly Hills High School, obtained his bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley and his Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Southern California. Stuart lived in Rancho Palos Verdes, California and the San Juan Islands in the State of Washington. For over 35 years, Stuart was the owner and CEO of CTL Environmental Services, an environmental engineering firm located in Southern California. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley. Stuart is survived by his wife of 33 years, Martha, his son Douglas (Elaine) Salot of Bainbridge Island and his daughter Deborah (A.J. Shaka) of Irvine, California; and grand-daughters: Sophia and Sarah. Stuart will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His family is grateful to the staff of Virginia Mason Hospital and The Terraces at Skyline in Seattle for their care and kindness during his illness. A private graveside service will be held in Friday Harbor, Washington. In memory of Stuart, donations may be made in his honor to the Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor at www.apsfh.com.
