Our bit of English royalty (not really) Ms. Sheila Strickland passed away peacefully in early July of this year at the Life Care of Skagit in Sedro Wooley. She was born Sheila Gee in Clapham, county of London in 1928, and lived there till after her marriage to her life partner Raymond Strickland. They moved to California in the 50s and then made their move to their home on San Juan Island, where they spent many years at their modest home on the mud flats of Mitchell Bay.
Friend and nurturer to all of God’s creatures, she loved birds, cats and classical music. Her quiet, unassuming, and sweet nature were a salve to all that knew and loved her! Her ashes will be spread in the Salish Sea, to join those of her husband Rays, who passed a couple years back.
Any donation can be made in her honor to Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor, or to any organization that sees to the welfare of any animal, wild or domestic.”
