1950-2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Kathryn Lindgren at the age of 71. She passed unexpectedly from heart complications on Friday, May 27, 2022.
Born in Riverside, California to Jack and Agnes Lindgren in 1950, she lived there until she graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University with a Bachelors in Business.
She raised her family in San Marcos, California and lived on the beautiful San Juan Island in Washington State for many years before retiring to Anacortes, Washington.
Throughout her life, she worked at the phone company, a law office, construction company, real estate office, chiropractor, charter company, and the Wild Animal Park. She was well known for keeping their offices running smoothy. She ran a busy household and raised two children through home construction, owning a small business, recessions and big moves. She was a member of the Atha Rug Hookers Association and volunteered at the local Food bank. She traveled to England and loved all things history related. She read every book on her bookshelf and had an amazing eye for interior decorating.
While she was proud of these, and her many other accomplishments, her greatest works were helping good people through hard things, sharing her smile and laugh with others and loving people, and the world deeply. She was mother of two children and had an impact on many other children that passed through her life.
Mary is survived by her siblings, Irene Sharp and Michael Lindgren, her two children, Melissa McKay and Wayne Foley and her three grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. To be loved by her was a gift indeed.
Mary loved taking care of the nature around her, in lieu of flowers or donations please consider taking a minute to feed the birds or squirrels, sit under a lovely tree or spend time with someone you love.
