Lois Garnette Gallanger (Lois Hammond) passed away peacefully at home in Chehalis on Feb. 3, 2018. She was 82.
Lois was born Oct. 31, 1935 to Gerald Jay Hammond and Mary Avis Felton Hammond in Creston Washington.
Lois will live forever through the memories of her family including her husband, Noel Gallanger of Chehalis; children, Kathi Pugh (Kevin) of Shoreline, John Jackson (Cherie) of Friday Harbor, Richard Jackson (Jill) of Everett, Cary Gallanger (Robin) of Everett, and Andrea Murat (Greg) of Lake Stevens.
She is also survived by siblings Helaine Gallanger of Napavine, Bruce Hammond (Carol) of Phoenix, Ruth Cox (Dave) of Seattle, Lou Ann Gilbert (Chuck) of Seattle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a loving Grandma “Nana” to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Geraldine, Liz, Eunice, Jerome, Herb, and son Paul.
Lois was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. She was devoted to and loved her family and friends. If you didn’t really want to know the answer then don’t ask. Lois’s favorite pastimes were watching the Seahawks and golf, spending time at the river, and being with family. She will be missed by all.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3 at Mountain View Baptist Church, 1201 Belmont Avenue, Centralia, Washington 98531. Lunch will be served after.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society.
