WSF returns to four-boat schedule due to Samish engine failure

The Samish ferry is experiencing a problem with its number two engine. In response to having a third ferry out of service, Washington State Ferries has released a four-boat alternative schedule for the San Juan Islands which will operate until a fifth boat can be put back into circulation.

WSF ferries does not have a current estimation on when the boats will be in full operation.

The ferry schedule had just returned to normal on Saturday, July 29 after operating on a four-boat schedule for 11 days. Read more about the earlier sailing interruption here
