The Friday Harbor High School baseball team ended the season by beating Orcas last Saturday, making the Wolverines co-champions in the Northwest 1A/2B League.
In that game, pitcher Kai Herko struck out nine batters and had one unearned run in five innings. James Guard and Jackson Pieples each had three hits. Guard also scored two runs and had four RBIs.
The “seeding” process for pairing teams for post-season play put Friday Harbor at #2 and Orcas at #3. The two teams launched the post-season yesterday (Tuesday, May 10) at Hartman Field. Friday Harbor will play again this Saturday at Stanwood.
