The Shoreline Visioning Meetings will focus on gathering and understanding public preferences regarding future shoreline development.
The goal is to develop a written statement describing the county’s shoreline in 20 years, which is a vital component of the subsequent review and probable amendment of current Shoreline Master Program regulations and districts.
The first meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Grange, 152 First St., Friday Harbor, from 1 to 4 p.m., will focus on concerns of outer island residents. The next meeting, also at the Grange, will start at 5 p.m.
The meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Madrona Room in the Orcas Center, 917 Mt Baker Road, on Orcas Island is 5 — 8 p.m.
The final meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts, 204 Village Road, Lopez Island from 5 — 8 p.m.
