September is Prostate Awareness month

Mayor Jacksonrecognized and declared September as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month during the regular Town Council meeting of Sept. Sept. 6. The Proclamation was shared with Mike Hamlette – Leader of Us TOO Friday Harbor, and stated that Whereas prostate canser is the second leading cause of cancer death in men, recognizing that whiel all mean are at risk of prostate cancer, African American men have the highest incidence and mortaility of prostate cancer in the world. The proclamation added that there will be an estimated 299,010 new caes nationally this year alone, and over 35,250 deaths.
