September is especially significant for the estimated 3 million men in the United States living with prostate cancer. A number that the American Cancer Society estimates to reach 4 million by the year 2024 as baby boomers age. Often, it has no symptoms until it’s advanced. But if detected early, it is also treatable. In an effort to elevate awareness, September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
Each of these men and his spouse/partner and loved ones need information about various treatments and side effects management to minimize the impact of the disease.
Us TOO International is a nonprofit that serves the prostate cancer community by providing educational resources and support services at no charge. Their mission is to provide hope and improve the lives of those affected by prostate cancer through support, education and advocacy.
