Orcas man charged with burglary and assault

Roy Granados, 32, of Eastsound was charged by the Superior Court of Washington for San Juan County with Burglary in the First Degree – Assault. According to court documents, on April 20, Granados entered an Eastsound residence unlawfully and assaulted a man inside by punching him in the face.

The documents said that Granados was allegedly in the victim’s trailer when the victim returned home. The victim asked Granados to leave and that is when he allegedly punched the victim in the left side of his face and then left the trailer after he said to the victim, “I’ll see you later around, b****.”

Deputies visited Granados’ residence where he allegedly said he did not want to talk, turned around and put his hands together behind his back. Deputies then placed Granados under arrest for probable cause.

The victim secured a no-contact harassment order against Granados that expires on April 23, 2019. Granados’ arraignment was on May 4 and he pleaded not guilty. His omnibus hearing is June 8, readiness is July 6 and a three-day jury trial starts July 16. There are no previous charges on record for the Granados, whose bail was set at $10,000.
