The flashing pedestrian crosswalk light and controls near the elementary school at Argyle Avenue and Grover Street were removed today due to damage caused by a vehicle accident. Repair could take up to a month. Parents are advised to take appropriate action to ensure their children use extra caution when using this crossing. “Many drivers have become used to watching for the flashing crosswalk lights and may not expect pedestrians to cross without them,” said Town Administrator Duncan Wilson. He asks that drivers as well as pedestrians be extra vigilant. “It’s always a good idea to make eye contact with drivers and even wave before crossing a street,” said Wilson.
Questions regarding the crosswalk light should be directed to Town Hall: (360) 378-2810.
