Local students graduate from U.W.

Four San Juan County residents graduated from University of Washington in June.

Jesse Le Douglas-Seitz of Friday Harbor received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture.

Heather Nicole Jones of Friday Harbor received a B.A. in political science.

Alena Marshak of Lopez Island received a B.A. in law, societies and justice. Leif Wefferling of Lopez received a B.A. in anthropology.

Elliot Thomsen earns biology degree at USD

Elliot Robinson Thomsen was awarded a bachelor of science degree at University of San Diego May 25. Thomsen’s major was biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish.

Family members from California, Conn-ecticut, Nevada and Washington were in attendance to cheer the 2004 Friday Harbor High School graduate.

After hiking in the Auvergne region of France with his proud mom, Marty Robinson, in July, Thomsen will be employed at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif.

Tyler Hart makes Dean’s List at EWU

Tyler Hart of Friday Harbor made the Dean’s List for spring quarter at Eastern Washington University,

An undergraduate student who earns 12 quality hours and receives a GPA of 3.5 or better is placed on the Dean’s List for the quarter.

Sheryl Tribolet is earning 4.0 at Oregon State

Sheryl L. Tribolet of Friday Harbor has been named to the honor roll for spring term at Oregon State University.

Tribolet, a junior majoring in natural resources, is earning straight A’s. She is one of 530 students earning a 4.0 grade point average.

To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.
