“We expect this update service will help keep people well-informed as we approach an unprecedented change in the county’s approach to handling solid waste and recycling,” Mulcahy said in press release about the email service.

Mulcahy said the email alerts will ensure that subscribers, those who signup for the service, will be kept current with:

Service changes for the transfer stations or the route collection system.

New developments in the system, such as ordinance changes and milestones reached in privatizing the transfer stations.

Notices of upcoming special events and meetings-Waste reduction education opportunities and “Zero Waste” sustainable event assistance.
