Management changes at San Juan County Public Hospital District No

Exciting changes are currently underway at San Juan County Public Hospital District No. 1. Beginning in July. Tina Smith will be assuming the role of Interim Executive Director at Village at the Harbor. Evan Perrollaz, the current Director at the Village, will be moving into a new role as Deputy Superintendent.

Smith, previously the Assistant Executive Director for Village at the Harbor, is thrilled to step into her new role. She has extensive experience in home care, senior services, and customer experience. She is excited to utilize her knowledge to successfully operate Village at the Harbor. Smith is passionate about the growing need for senior services on San Juan Island and is looking forward to serving the community as Interim Executive Director.

Smith has been a member of the San Juan Island Community for over twenty years. Her passion for senior care stems from both professional and personal experience. Smith’s grandmother, Jackie Ross, spent her last few years at Village at the Harbor. Smith noted that “It was such a gift to have her close enough for us to visit regularly while being taken care of by the committed, loving staff at the Village. It is truly a full circle moment for me to be assuming to the position of Interim Executive Director.”

Superintendent Nathan Butler said, “I am confident Smith is the right person for the job. She has the passion, experience, and drive to lead the Village team through the next few years of integral growth and change. I am also extremely grateful for outgoing Administrator Perrollaz’s tireless efforts and immense contributions to the success of Village at the Harbor.”

Perrollaz will be responsible for building a new training center for long-term care workers, managing facilities for the District, building home care services, and managing the District’s expansion of Village at the Harbor and other capital projects.

Perrollaz stated, “I am excited to be moving into this new role. I have always had a passion for seeing how we can grow these services to better meet the needs of this community, and I am greatly looking forward to seeing that through in my new role. The District has grown significantly in the past year. I am grateful to be able to fill the position of Deputy Superintendent and director of our home care services to meet this growth.”
