Local access will be disrupted on McDonald Street

Local access will be disrupted beginning Monday, Sept. 12 into early October while the contractor installs water main and reconstructs a portion of McDonald Street. The contractor, Richard Lawson Construction, has been asked to expedite the project with as little disruption to the neighborhood as possible. Residents should expect short delays during certain phases of the project. The public is asked to make every effort to be respectful of their surroundings while passing through the project area.

Information and updates on the project will be posted online as often as possible. Questions for daily operations can be directed to the on-site Contractor or Project Inspector. Do not hesitate to call the Town to report problems or concerns.

As always, drive carefully and thank you in advance for proceeding with caution in areas where crews are working in the roadway.

Project Description:

This project consists of installing approximately 240 linear feet of 4-inch and 8-inch AWWA C900 water main on McDonald Street from Friday Avenue to Beach Court, water services and fire hydrant. Then, the portion of McDonald Street roadway will be reconstructed with new pavement.

Working Hours:

The contractor will begin mobilizing in on Monday, Sept. 12. Work is authorized Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. The Project is estimated to last 15 working days with work to be substantially completed by Oct. 15.

Street Closure:

Local access will remain open at all times; however, neighbors of the project should anticipate short delays during certain portions of construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained. The Contractor is making every effort to not be disruptive to the neighborhood.

Detour:

Flaggers will be on-site as needed.

Safety:

Pedestrians and motorists should exercise common sense and caution. Be aware of equipment, construction workers, trucks and construction materials. Make sure you are seen while moving within the job site and abide by flagger instructions.
