The Friday Harbor Art Market opened on Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Brickworks property on Nichols Street.
A steady stream of curious folks strolled through the newly completed Brickworks plaza, enjoying he sounds of local musicians and the creations of fourteen artists.
Visitors to the market, talked with the artists, caught up with friends and purchased various items.
The Art Market will continue to run every week, from 5 – 8 p.m. until Sept. 1.
The new Art Market is meant to complement existing ongoing events like Island Rec’s Music on the Lawn on Wednesday evening, Music at the Port on Friday and Sunday and the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.
Art Market artists include Hayley Bolstad Hatten’s etched metal jewelry, Patti Barker’s fiber art accessories, Beth Hetrick’s watercolors, Brandy Ballard’s beach and bottle top Glass jewelry, Geneva and Karen Mottet’s knitted items and paintings, Debbie Pigman’s beaded jewelry, Alison Johnston’s acrylics, Linda Francis’ soaps and lotions, Terrea Bennett’s art prints and magnets, Paula West’s porcelain tableware, Thaddeus Krol’s handcut gemstones and jewelry, Doris Schaller’s oils, David Halpern and Jennifer Armstrong’s flip books, art and felted wares and Jane Buck’s photos, cards and photo mugs.
Music at the first art market was provided by OPA and Teddy Deane.
