Last Pod Nod of season Friday at Whale Museum
The last Pod Nod of the summer is Friday.

Don’t miss a chance to attend this marine science adventure. The popular “pajama party” sleepover in the Whale Museum for children ages 5-10 is led by a museum educator with assistance from other adult professionals and students.

Participants will learn to value whales and their environment through art projects, science labs, music, games and the traditional flashlight tour of the exhibit hall.

The theme for the final Pod Nod is “Conservation — Help Save the Whales!”

The Pod Nod will begin at 6:30 p.m. with pick-up the next morning at 8:30 a.m. A bedtime snack and light breakfast are included.

Cost is $39 for children and grandchildren of Whale Museum members; for non-members, $49. Some scholarships are available.

Volunteer sought for local shellfish samples
The Puget Sound Restoration Fund is looking for a volunteer to help collect shellfish samples at Cattle Point twice a month.

“We assist the state Department of Health in monitoring levels of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning — PSP or red tide,” said Morgan Rohrbach, project manager.

“The job will require a commitment of four hours a month and training will be provided.”
