The Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center is thrilled to share some wonderful news with our island community. We’ve been selected to receive a grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s National Paralysis Resource Center as part of its 2025 Priority Impact Cycle Quality of Life grants. This prestigious program has been a beacon of support, distributing over $46 million through more than 3,990 grants to nonprofits that uplift individuals facing paralysis. Funding for this program was made possible through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living (ACL grant #90PRRC0006-04).
Dan McNeal, director of the Quality of Life Grants Program at the Reeve Foundation, captures the spirit of these awards: “Our work and number one goal is to enhance the quality of life of people living with paralysis. It is our honor to continue to collaborate with so many dedicated organizations, which have selflessly given their time and efforts to ensure that accessibility and inclusivity remain embedded in the fabric of their Programs.”
Here at the Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center, we are excited to put this generous grant to good use. The funds will be directed toward expanding and enhancing our services and programs that assist local residents living with paralysis. This funding will significantly enhance our support for programs like Young Adult Association of San Juan and Parent-to-Parent, and enable us to foster greater inclusion across other initiatives, positively impacting many lives.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Quality of Life Grants Program for their trust and support. This grant not only aids in providing essential services but also reinforces our commitment to fostering an inclusive community where every member has the support they need to lead a fulfilling life.
We’re proud to be a part of this initiative and cannot wait to see how these new opportunities uplift our community. Stay tuned for updates on how these funds are helping make a difference right here at home!
