San Juan Island is maintaining a strong commitment to recycling.

The San Juan Community Home Trust will take delivery of the eighth of a proposed 12 homes for its new development, Sun Rise II, on Thursday, Sept. 15 at about 5:30 p.m. at Jackson Beach. Composed primarily of bungalows from the 1920s and 1930s, this pocket neighborhood will be home to 12 families and singles, living, working and raising families here and committed to remaining on the island. The SJC Home Trust develops permanently affordable homes for low and moderate income islanders and invites community members to join them on Jackson Beach to celebrate the newest addition.
