Members of the Soroptimists Club of Friday Harbor will sell raffle tickets Sept. 19-20 to raise money for transportation for island cancer patients, as well as other services such as scholarships and the women’s emergency fund.

They are calling the event the Harvest Fund-raiser; it replaces the bowl-a-thon, which was canceled for lack of bowlers.

Marie DiCristina said the Harvest Fund-raiser creates the opportunity for more people to help support Soroptimists’ island causes, as well as possibly win some great local prizes.

Soroptimist Club members will sell raffle tickets at King’s Market and Marketplace. Tickets are $3 each, or five for $10.

Donations of $10 or more also automatically puts you in a raffle for more exclusive items. Prizes include a $100 savings bond, a gift certificate at Christy’s Island Salon, a portrait session with photographer Marie DiCristina, an art vase from Harbor Gallery, a gift certificate at Spa d’Bune, two massages by Richard and Sam at Spa d’Bune, and dinner at Vinny’s Ristorante.
