Pilgrim will conduct a book and computer drive April 25, May 2 and May 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the old Sam’s Shoe Shop at 187 Spring St.
Use of the space is being donated by Pat O’Day of John L. Scott Real Estate.
Pilgrim is conducting the drive to help the students of Beacon of Hope Secondary School in Soroti, Uganda, build a library collection and increase their access to education.
Pilgrim’s school, Beacon of Hope, provides secondary education and all basic needs to children made refugees by war. The Teso region of Uganda has suffered multiple conflicts in the last 30 years, the latest being the long siege of the Lord’s Resistance Army. The students at the school are former abductees of the LRA. Most are also orphans.
Pilgrim will present an informational meeting May 16, 11 a.m., at Paideia School. Books and computers can be dropped off at that time, too.
