Floyd ‘Burke’ Breedlove
March 14, 1921 — March 12, 2010

Burke passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 12, two days before his 89th birthday.

He grew up rather mischievously as an Indiana farm boy in a large, loving family. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He met his future bride, Virginia Neiman of San Diego, while convalescing in a military hospital. His service allowed him to attend Purdue University on the G.I. Bill, graduating as an electrical engineer. While there, he and Jinny welcomed the first two of their three sons before moving to San Diego, where he began his career in electric metering. He loved his working years, serving in management and product development, and was highly respected as his job moved from San Diego to San Francisco, then to Lafayette, Ind.

Following retirement, he and Jinny moved to Friday Harbor in 1987.

Burke outlived his two brothers, and three sisters, as well as his eldest son, Kirk Alan (1947-1972). Ne service is planned, but the family will gather in the spring to “scatter the ashes in the mountains” as had long been his wish. Burke is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons, Kim Robert and Larry Charles, and their families.
