The annual ‘Orca Sing’ on San Juan Island is June 18 in honor of “Ruffels,” J-pod patriarch, who went missing last year.

Maestro Fred West and the City Cantabile Choir will perform at 7 p.m. at Lime Kiln Point State Park to celebrate Puget Sound’s Southern resident whales.

Conservation groups will be on hand to answer any questions and concerns about the health of the whales and the water of Puget Sound and the Straits.

The choir suggests a small donation to help cover the expenses of the sound system and travel.

Parking at Lime Kiln Point is very limited. A local bus transportation will be available to and from The Whale Museum in Friday Harbor.

‘Orca Sing’ is sponsored by City Cantabile Choir, People For Puget Sound, The Whale Museum, American Cetacean Society — Puget Sound Chapter, Friends of the San Juans, The Whale Trail, Orca Network, Killer Whale Tales, and Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
