2nd half property-tax payment due Oct. 31

Payments received after the deadline will accrue 1 percent interest through the month of November, and will be assessed penalty and interest of 10 percent in December; interest accrues at 1 percent each month thereafter.

The deadline for second-half of the year property tax payments is Monday, Oct. 31.

The San Juan County Treasurer will accept over-the-counter payments and payments by mail that are postmarked by Oct. 31 or before.

Payments can be made by credit card or electronic check via the treasurer’s webpage, http://www.sanjuanco.com/treasurer. Click on the tab on the left side of the webpage labeled “payment by credit card” for electronic payments. Payments made electronically will include a fee, 2.5 percent of the transaction total for credit cards, and $3 for electronic check.

Payments can be made in person at the treasurer’s office, located in the county courthouse, 350 Court St., Friday Harbor, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The treasurer’s mailing addressing is: P.O. Box 639, Friday Harbor, 98250.
