How does one get to be a published author, particularly in this day and age?
You can find out the answer to that question, and much more, like how one continues to be published, all in just one day.
Award-winning San Juan Island author Susan Wingate, a best-seller on Amazon, will lead a one-day workshop entitled, “Jump on Board the Starship ‘Publishing’,” Saturday, May 17, 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., in the Community Room of Skagit Valley College’s San Juan Center, located near the airport, on Weber Way.
The workshop is presented by San Juan County Arts Council.
Wingate, author of the award-winning “Drowning,” and “Bobby’s Diner” series, will not only discuss steps to getting published by traditional presses, but also how to get published by indie and small presses, as well as how to publish your own stories, from cover art to eBook on Amazon and Barnes & Noble platforms.
Workshop fee is $55; register at www.sjcartscouncil, or at, pigmansartworks@rockisland.com, or by telephone, 378-0951.
