What’s happening at the Friday Harbor Food Bank???

Submitted by the Friday Harbor Food Bank

If you’ve shopped at Market Place recently, you’ve probably noticed the other bustling market across the street… The Friday Harbor Food Bank! Many of the hardworking folks who come to the island to work in our hospitality trade utilize our services to offset the cost of living on beautiful San Juan Island. Through a grant from the SJI Community Foundation, the Food Bank has transformed their waiting area into a “Neighborly Nourishment Wall” where friends and neighbors can, understand the services they’re receiving from the food bank, learn about the different services offered on our island, and share events or other needs in the community in one convenient spot. If you want to help this community continue to thrive, there are many ways to contribute! You can volunteer your time, extra produce from the garden, or swing by King’s Market for a $20 donation bag (that’s actually $30 worth of Food Bank requested food) and is easily purchased when checking out. All of these contributions make a big difference to the food bank, and for that we say Thank you!
