Oliver Strasser, of San Juan Island, and fellow musician, Sierra Klingele, have written “Broken Dreams — Follow the Sun” for the Guitar Center Songwriting Competition.

Winners will record a three-song EP with Grammy award-winning producer John Shanks, $10,000, new gear, studio time at the Converse Rubber Tracks studio in New York City, and worldwide music distribution from Tunecore.

The musicians will be ranked based on their new online fan growth from now until Dec. 2.
