Violet also lived in Juneau and Valdez, Alaska, supporting her husband’s career as an executive in the maritime industry and city government. They retired on San Juan Island in 1977, making their home on Garrison Bay.

Among her many passions, Violet was an accomplished painter, which began early as a colorist for black and white photos. As president of several garden clubs, she was an award-winning floral designer and, many of her bridge club friends could attest, an avid bridge player.

Violet enjoyed the bounties of the islands, fishing for salmon and crab and creating culinary delights for the entire family. Most of all, Violet treasured her family. She was a strong and loving mother and wife.

Violet is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, William Morrice of Bellingham, daughter Marilyn Bozich of Gig Harbor, son Richard (Connie) Grant of Bellingham, grandsons John (Kari) Bozich, Jim (Melissa) Bozich, William (Lisa) Grant, granddaughter Ronia Blake, great-granddaughter Sofia Walzer Grant, great-grandson Maddox Blake, brother Edward Peterson and many loving nieces and nephews.
