The San Juan Singers are relocating to Brickworks for an exciting new treble-based performance this spring!

Submitted by the San Juan Community Theatre.

San Juan Singers’ Spring Concert will be held at Brickworks on April 12 and 13. The repertoire will feature exciting choral pieces for all treble voices by women, femme and non-binary composers. Both performances are offered with a suggested donation of $20 per person.

Performing at Brickworks is a significant, if temporary, change from San Juan Singers’ historic relationship with San Juan Community Theatre. Singers Director Eleanor Bennett-White discussed the use of the new venue: “We approached the Theatre in late November about moving to a different location. San Juan Island is blessed with a variety of opportunities for vocal performers, and we are intentionally scaling back the size of our concert for the spring to feature specific composers and arrangements. This will be my final concert as the director of San Juan Singers, and we hoped to secure a smaller, more intimate venue for the concert. The staff at the Theatre were very understanding about the change.”

San Juan Community Theatre Artistic Director Nathan Kessler-Jeffrey agreed, “San Juan Community Theatre has been the home of the San Juan Singers since the doors opened in 1989. Producing live performing arts of any kind is consistently challenging, and I applaud the Singers for venturing into new territory at a new venue with their Spring Concert. Working with Eleanor has been fantastic, and I look forward to collaborating with the next Singers Director on many more concerts at the Theatre in the future.”
