Alexei Ratmansky’s captivating revival of Vasily Vainonen’s “The Flames of Paris” will be screened during the Bolshoi Ballet Only in Cinemas series at San Juan Community Theatre on Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m.
Set in the era of the French Revolution, the story focuses on Jeanne and her brother Jérôme who leave Marseille for Paris in support of the revolutionary effort that is taking over the capital. While fighting for freedom, they both encounter love along the way. With powerful virtuosity and some of the most stunning pas de deux, the Bolshoi Ballet displays an exuberance almost too enormous for the Moscow stage. Tickets for the screening are $20 for adults, $18 for members, and $10 for student reserved and are available online at or at the SJCT Box Office 360-378-3210. Due to a financial agreement with Bolshoi Ballets Only in Cinemas, no SJCT coupons are accepted for this event.
