Our dear friend, Katie Heeb, was diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma, more commonly known as liver cancer. As anyone can imagine, this diagnosis is devastating. Katie doesn’t let hard things stop her and does an excellent job at making hard things look easy. She is that friend who will always listen, lend a hand to help, volunteer, coach our kids and, most importantly, be there for anyone in need.

Since her diagnosis, she has been unable to work and does not expect to be able to work for the foreseeable future. To continue to help Katie, Henry, and Chris through this financial hardship, our generous community has come together to create a day about what Katie loves — baseball, competitive fun, and this community!

With the help of the generous sponsorship of Valmark, M.E.M. Enterprises, San Juan Island Brewing Co., Downriggers, Twin Bridges, Mike Carlson Enterprises, San Juan Interiors, Frog Marine Home Watch, Haley’s, Printonyx, San Juan Shindigs — TeamHeeb will host a day-long Softball tournament on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m at Hartman Field.

There will be six knock-out games from teams created by the sponsorship teams, a live and silent auction, food and beer, all-around fun time to support a family that has given our community so much. We are thrilled about some of our live auction items! To name a few: a Mug Club Membership, Seattle Seahawks package, a Roche Harbor Getaway, and a few other incredible vacation home packages.
