Join a reception at The Whale Museum to enjoy food, drinks, friends and the unveiling of the newest exhibits from 6 to 8 p.m., January 11. Heavy hors-d’oeuvres will be provided by Market Chef; wine by Northwest Totem Cellars; and beer by San Juan Brewing Co. will be available at the cash bar. Music will be performed by Cellist Sasha Von Dassow and Mike’s Café and Wine Bar is the event sponsor.
The evening costs $35 per person, which includes heavy hors-d’oeuvres. Wine and beer will be sold separately. Tickets can be purchased at The Whale Museum or at whalemuseum.org/products/night. The Whale Museum is located in Friday Harbor at 62 First St. N. Founded in 1979 and the mission is to promote stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research. In addition to providing exhibits, the museum also provides programs including Marine Naturalist Training, SeaSound, Orca Adoption Program, Soundwatch Boater Education, San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network, and the Whale Hotline.
