The San Juan Island Community Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the Spring SJI Cares campaign, an ongoing community fundraising campaign dedicated to uplifting and supporting the vital work of nonprofits serving San Juan Island. The campaign kicks off May 1 and runs through midnight May 15.
SJI Cares is designed to shine a light on the organizations that provide critical services and enrich life in our island community—from food security and affordable housing to youth programs, arts, and environmental stewardship. The spring campaign invites islanders to give, spread awareness, and strengthen the network of care that helps San Juan Island thrive.
“We are thrilled to continue the SJI Cares tradition this spring,” said Amy Saxe-Eyler, Executive Director of SJICF. “Our community is already familiar with the SJI Cares campaign at the San Juan County Fair. This year, we’ve expanded SJI Cares to two additional grant cycles – one in the spring and one in the fall – to increase awareness and community participation in our grantmaking process. Our nonprofit partners work tirelessly to meet the evolving needs of our community under increasing funding pressures. Islanders can show their care and support by donating $5 or more to their favorite nonprofit and by sharing their favorite project with their friends during the giving cycle May 1st through the 15th!”
The SJI Cares campaign will feature an online catalog of nonprofit organizations that have identified specific funding needs in the spring grant cycle. Community members can read about each nonprofit’s mission and the impact of their programs. Contributions can be made securely at sjicares.org or by mailing a check to SJICF. 100% of every dollar donated through SJI Cares goes directly to the nonprofit.
Don’t forget to visit sjicares.org between May 1 and May 15 to support your favorite nonprofit! Follow the San Juan Island Community Foundation on Facebook for a sneak peek of the featured nonprofits beginning April 28.
