Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor is pleased to announce the first two weekly raffle winners:

Gay Graham and Angelica Hadeen each won $100. Additional winning names will be drawn over the course of the next nine weeks with a $500 prize on the 11th week. Proceeds from this raffle go toward educational and career training awards for women.

Applications are now being accepted for a $2,000 Educational Opportunity Award for undergraduate study and a $3,000 Fellowship Award for graduate school. For details and information on how to apply, visit www.sifri.org. Applications must be postmarked by Jan. 12. Funds for these awards are raised locally, most recently by using an 11-week raffle.
