Approximately six inches of snow fell starting Jan. 17.
County road crews did their best to keep the roads plowed, but still, many cars went off the road, and chools were closed for three days due to dangerous road conditions. The lights went out briefly in the Roche Harbor area after a tree fell. OPALCO crews were able to get to the scene quickly and restore power.
Islanders were forced to slow down and have fun in the snow. Some mysterious person built a snow mouse by the Lavender farm on Wold Road.
